Dear Dad,

You were, and remain, my hero. Beyond your professional dedication to task and many accomplishments, of which I am so proud, it’s your values and you as a presence that I miss most and strive to emulate.

Not by your words, but by your conduct, I learned the importance of honesty, integrity, the value of strong ethics and high moral fiber. I learned that there is no problem for which there is not a solution and that not all solutions are perfect but may be, in fact, perfectly fine. I learned that the generosity of one’s soul is equally as important as the generosity of one’s wallet and that being kind comes at no personal cost. I learned that the purpose of a gift given is to bring joy. That joy is the gift in return.

Beyond the above, your devotion to your family is what I and your family held/holds most dear. Thank you for showing me every day that the love for, and of, family is the greatest gift.

You are my Hero!

Beth G.
