Dear Rabbi Elie,

You stand for the ideals we admire most and you are a great example for our family and others.  You present the characteristics we have tried to instill in our family. This entails not just what you say…but how you act. Your compassion, intelligence and warmth have been evident in all that you do…including helping our family get through difficult times and times of celebration. As parents, we try to instill these traits in our children and grandchildren. It’s more important to be a good person and to have an open heart than almost anything else. You are an example of that!
